In anticipation of the upcoming Seattle Public Theater (SPT) production of Johnna Adams' play Gidion's Knot, LUCIDLounge and SPT present Knotty Words: An Evening of Inappropriate Poetry and Prose, Friday, March 21st, 7:00pm-10:00pm.
ABOUT KNOTTY WORDS-Words can be powerful and beautiful things, even when they're inappropriate. In Gidion's Knot we are reminded what happens when words are denied a voice. A week before Gidion's Knot opens, SPT will create an opportunity for local writers and theater artists to share and celebrate their own powerful, beautiful, and outlandish words. Knotty Words features the unique literary talents of Scot Auguston, Catherine Blake Smith, Jennifer Burdette, Litsa Dremousis, Melissa Fenwick, Pamela Hobart Carter, Cole Hornaday, Pearl Klein, Michelle Lunicke, Lauren Marshall, Davey Patnode, Zoe Alexis Scott, and Tim Thomas. At 7:00pm a 30-minute open-mic opportunity will precede the Knotty Words main event line up from 7:30-10:00pm. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to ensure participation. LUCIDLounge is located 5241 University Way NE Seattle, WA, LUCIDLounge is a 21 and over venue. This is a FREE event. SPT's production of Johnna Adams' Gidion's Knot, directed by Shana Bestock, previews March 27th, 2014 and runs March 28th to April 20th, 2014.
