Seattle Opera's stimulating 2010/11 season opens this summer with the unparalleled ecstasy of Richard Wagner's transcendent masterpiece Tristan und Isolde, one of the most breathtaking and influential musical works of all time. A powerful potion liberates two lovers to pursue their passion in this stunning and sensuous monument to love, the most beautiful of dreams. Every note of the opulent, surging score draws you ever closer to their cosmic consummation. Conducted by Seattle Opera's principal guest conductor Asher Fisch, this new production from director Peter Kazaras (Falstaff, The Marriage of Figaro) and designer Robert Israel (Parsifal) marks the Seattle debut of Annalena Persson as Isolde. Clifton Forbis, world-famous as Tristan, returns to Seattle Opera in this role. Acclaimed Ring favorites Greer Grimsley, Margaret Jane Wray, and Stephen Milling add to the excellence of this exciting season opener. Single tickets to Tristan and season subscription packages are now on sale.
