Seattle Center Winterfest nnounces December 20-24 Family Activities

Visit Seattle Center Winterfest during the week before Christmas for fun family activities, including magic, acrobatics, puppeteering, hands-on science experiments and human generated sound scapes. The events are free and open to the public.

In addition to the live entertainment, Winter Train and Village returns to the festively decorated Center House, and Winter Ice Rink awaits avid skaters at Fisher Pavilion (skate rental and use charge).

Event List for Dec. 20 - Dec. 24 (all performances are in Center House):

The Magic of Budd & Durgin: these award-winning magicians feature grand illusion, stunning levitation, doves, manipulation, acrobatics, disappearances and much more in a show packed with excitement, comedy, and fast paced action. Monday, Dec. 20, 2:30 p.m.

The Noise Guy: Charles Preston Williams writes, illustrates and performs funny stories for kids. His live performance mixes a human generated soundscape with classic tales, creating a unique brand of storytelling that captivates and entertains, Tuesday, Dec. 21, 11:30 a.m.

SANCA Acrobatics & Circus Arts: founded in 2006, the SANCA Youth Performance Company utilizes a variety of disciplines, including trapeze, juggling, tightwire, unicycle and acrobatics to fascinate young and old alike, Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2:30 p.m.

Mad Science®: the world"s leading science enrichment provider introduces children to a world of discovery while sparking their imaginations. Watch and participate in hands-on science experiences as entertaining as they are educational, Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1 p.m.

Zambini Brothers Puppeteers: based on Vashon Island, this troupe of puppeteer-artists perform their splendidly wonderful giant puppets, roving comedy characters, puppet and comedy shows at fairs, festivals, schools, libraries and events throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Featured at Winterfest, The Tasty Tale of Brave Sir Bump, Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2:30 p.m.

Hot Dog USA - Exhibition Jump Rope: the jump rope team is dedicated to inspiring, motivating and educating people of all ages, while fostering local, national and international jump rope competitions, workshops and performances. The team, consisting of about 50 boys and girls ages 6 years old to adults, has been competing and teaching jump rope workshops around the world since 1980, Thursday, Dec. 23, 1 p.m.

Klez Kidz: this multigenerational group of musicians, singers and dancers presents interactive concerts filled with World Jewish Music and mirth. You"ll hear the wail of clarinets and the rousing sounds of Israeli dance music and see bottles balanced on the heads of dancers. Friday, Dec. 24, 1 p.m.
