Seattle Center Festál Announced the Asian-Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration, Sunday, May 2, 12 noon - 5 p.m., in Center House. Experience and enjoy the rich cultures of the Asian-Pacific Islander communities through song, dance, music, and art.

The festival launches Asian-Pacific Islander Heritage Month in Seattle with spectacular lion dances, youth drill teams, martial arts, taiko drums and incredible artists from around the state.

This year's line-up features Asian-American soul and R&B artist, Dawen, singing about Asian-American identity, social issues, love, loss and redemption, Chinese Community Girls Drill Team, Seattle Matsuri Taiko, Filipino Youth Activities Drill Team, Apna Bhangra Crew, Cambodian Dance Preservation Group, Fraggle Rock, Ke Liko A'e O Lei Lehua, Nepal Seattle Society, Traditional Dance of Japan, Urvasi Classical Dance of India, University of Washington Lambda Phi Epsilon Step Dancers, Vovinam Martial Arts, and many more...

The 22 Festál cultural celebrations highlight The Common forms of tradition and expression among ethnic communities in the Pacific Northwest, while underscoring their unique creative contributions, customs, foods and ideals.

Seattle Center Festál, a series of 22 world festivals presented at Seattle Center on weekends throughout 2010, highlights the distinct cultures and common threads of ethnic communities in our region through traditional and contemporary art, music, foods, youth activities, workshops and more.
