Seattle Center Festál: Live Aloha Hawaiian Cultural Festival offers exploration and insights into the culture of the Hawaiian Islands, Sunday, Sept. 11, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., in the Fisher Pavilion and Fisher Rooftop and the South Fountain Lawn.

Experience the festive spirit of the islands while you learn their true history. Weave a lei, taste Hawaiian food, participate in hands-on activities for children and adults, see a traditional Hawaiian house and listen to enchanting island music -- a feast for the senses. Local Seattle hula groups and a jazz band will entertain.

Rising stars from the island of O'ahu, performing in the Hawaiian trio Hi`ikua, will share their expertise in traditional Hawaiian music as they entice listeners with impressive falsetto melodies and ukulele licks. Hi'ikau has garnered fame and fans in Hawaii since debuting its first album.

The 21 Seattle Center Festál cultural celebrations highlight The Common forms of tradition and expression among ethnic communities in the Pacific Northwest, while underscoring their unique creative contributions, customs, foods and ideals. Each event offers moving entertainment and fascinating insight into a different culture of the world.
