Seattle Theatre Group (STG) presents The Temper Trap on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 9:00pm at the Crocodile.
The Temper Trap embark on their first North American tour this fall for a series of dates around the US release of their Jim Abbiss produced, debut album, Conditions (October 13,Glassnote Records). Reaching another milestone in the young band's career, Conditions is the #1 specialty album this week, and their infectious lead single "Sweet Disposition" is currently the #1 track at specialty radio for the second week in a row, according to FMQB and MediaBase, putting them ahead of new cuts from Arctic Monkeys, Wolfmother, Pete Yorn and Muse! The track is highlighted in the current issue of SPIN Magazine as "anthemic" and the UK's London Times recently gave the album a 4-star review. "Sweet Disposition" is featured prominently in the film, trailer and soundtrack for the big Summer hit film, 500 Days of Summer starring Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
The Temper Trap's talents are apparent from the first hint of the soaring melodies and hard hitting percussion of their debut. The centerpiece of the band's instantly familiar songs is the breathtaking falsetto vocals of Indonesian lead singer Dougy Mandagi. He moves up and down the scale, delivering their heart pounding choruses with incredible power and passion.
