STG Presents SHOWTUNES: The Music of Irving Berlin At The Moore Theatre 2/6

Seattle Theatre Group (STG) presents SHOWTUNES The Music of Irving Berlin at The Moore Theatre on Saturday, February 5th at 8pm and Sunday, February 6th at 2pm.

Irving Berlin was the first songwriter to pen distinctly modern American music for the Broadway Theatre. Over a period of five decades, Berlin's outpouring of ballads, dance numbers, novelty tunes and love songs defines American popular music. Among those hits includes "White Christmas," (arguably the single best selling song in history), "Cheek to Cheek," "Always," and "Blue Skies."

Nine extraordinary musical theatre talent perform a concert of Berlin songs. Cast members include Shelly Burch (Nine original Broadway cast, ABC's "One Life to Live," leading roles at The 5th Ave and Village Tehatre), and Puyallup, Washington's Louis Hobson (original cast of Broadway's next to normal, leading roles at The 5th Ave and Village Theatre). Also featured are Jeff Church, Connie Corrick, Jon Lutyens, Aaron Shanks, Jenny Shotwell, Jessica Skerritt, and Matt Wolfe.

SHOWTUNES: The Music of Irving Berlin is directed by Marin Charnin, and musical director is Mark Rabe. Dialogue taken from the book "Irving Berlin: A Daughter's Memoir," by Mary Ellin Barrett, script continuity by Tom Briggs, orchestrations and vocal arrangements by Donald Johnston and conceived by Karen Baker.
