Seattle's Moore Theatre, built in 1907, is the City's oldest operating theatre. For the last 20 years, Seattle Theatre Group has stewarded and programmed the theatre, presenting diverse artists, and hosting programs for developing young artists. The Moore has been a favored performance venue for legendary local artists who helped to reshape the music scene, including Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Mudhoney among others. History has been made at The Moore and the future is about to get brighter! After 106 years of operation, this grand theatre is receiving a much-needed facelift.
STG recently launched the Forever Moore campaign, in order to reach a fundraising goal of $800,000 that will make it possible to replace and upgrade the seats, patch and paint the theatre interior, make heating improvements and install a curtain system to enhance intimate performances. To date, $705,000 has been raised with just $95,000 left to achieve the final goal.
This much-needed facelift is only possible with generous support from donors, and
we are so thankful for all the contributions thus far. The theatre is set to reopen with a full celebration, Friday, September 27th with the legendary Mavis Staples!
Supporters can easily participate in the FOREVER MOORE campaign. Contributing can be as easy as texting MOORE to 28594, where you can donate $5 and up via text! You can also donate online by visiting The Moore. Every donation makes a big difference! For your support of this iconic theatre makeover, donors at various levels will receive a special backstage tour, your name on a new Moore seat, a message on the marquee, and more. Learn more about these incentives and become a part of the campaign at STGpresents.org.
