World premiere Starling comes to SODO's theLAB@INScape (home of the Satori Group) from June 6 through June 21, presented by the Confrontational Theater Project. In this intimate new drama by Samm Murphy and local playwright Julia Nardin, two estranged sisters rescue a German war correspondent during the last great conflict between Poland's resistance movement and occupying Nazi forces, and must choose between duty to their country and duty to the life they have inadvertently saved. Starling explores the fragility and fallibility of the human heart through the experience of women at war.

"Starling was written in response to the lack of meaningful wartime narratives centered around female protagonists," says Nardin. "We want to encourage discussion about the effect that these conflicts have on women - in what ways are their experiences different than those of men? In what ways are they similar?"

The Confrontational Theater Project will stage this new play with a five person cast featuring Katherine Jett, veteran Seattle actor David Klein, Tom Stewart, Stefan Hajek, and newcomer Danika Golombek, set against a desolate underground backdrop designed by Gregory Award nominated scenic designer Ahren Buhmann. CTP is committed to producing quality, accessible, affordable theatre to Seattle audiences. Previous productions include Proof (2012) and Two Rooms (2013) at Eclectic Theater in Capitol Hill.
