BPA Theatre School is now registering for the Winter Session (mid-January - late March) plus Mid-Winter (February 16 - 20) and Spring Break (March 30 - April 3) Camps. Led by experienced teaching artists, BPA Theatre School provides year-round classes and camps for all ages and experience levels. The Winter Session includes offerings in four primary programs: Developing Actors, Building Character, Teen Intensive, and Performance Series.

The overriding goal of the Developing Actors program is to create a rich, positive learning environment that focuses on developing capable people as well as future performers. Classes include "Story Drama" led by Director of Education Zandi Carlson for Ages 3 ½ -5 and "Creative Drama - Superhero Adventures" with instructor Rachael LeValley for Grades K - 1.

In BPA Theatre School's Building Character program, students focus on ensemble building, pursuing objectives, overcoming obstacles, and using their voice and body to create captivating characters. Classes include "Acting I" (Grades 2 - 4) and "Acting II" (Grades 4 - 6) with Rachael LeValley, plus "Acting II" (Grades 6 - 10) with Zandi Carlson.

As part of a year-long program, Zandi Carlson teaches the Teen Intensive Program along with guest artists, who are also working theatre professionals. This quarter, The BPA Shakespeare Society's Director Tom Challinor joins Zandi to lead classes and rehearsals for Grades 8 - 12. Students will explore Shakespeare through rehearsal and performance of the hilarious "Comedy of Errors." Auditions for this show are on January 5, and interested students should email Zandi Carlson at zcarlson@bainbridgeperfomringarts.org.

BPA Theatre School's Performance Series program is about more than just getting on stage. When it comes to performing, BPA's educational program inspires confidence building, character building, community building, and celebrating the joy of artistic expression. This winter Zandi Carlson and Michelle Abad head up Broadway Basics for Grades 1 - 2; Broadway Dreams are led by Michelle Abad for Grades 3 - 5; and Characters of Broadway for Grades 6 - 8 is taught by Julia Beers.

In addition to our winter programs for Ages 3 ½ - Grade 12, BPA Theatre School is pleased to offer a Senior Adult Acting Class specifically designed with mature adults in mind. Targeted for both novices and seasoned veterans, Barbara Deering has crafted an exciting theatre program that builds skills in acting, movement, and character development using material from great theatrical works.

BPA Theatre School's break camps effectively combine learning opportunities with FUN! Mid-Winter Break Camps run February 16 - 20 and include Creative Drama - "Frozen" for Grades K - 2 led by Zandi Carlson, Musical Theatre Camp - "Shrek" for Grades 3 - 5 led by Daniel Stoltenberg, and Intermediate Intensive - "Improv" for Grades 6 - 12 led by Rachael LeValley. Spring Break Camps run March 30 - April 3 and include Creative Drama - "Guild of Geniuses" for Grades K - 2 taught by Zandi Carlson, Theatre Camp - "Improv" for Grades 3 - 5 taught by Rachael LeValley, and Intermediate Intensive - "Alice in Wonderland" for Grades 6 - 12 taught by Daniel Stoltenberg.
