The Light in the Piazza, the musical by Craig Lucas and Adam Guettel, will return to Seattle April 17–29, 2007, for a special homecoming engagement at The Paramount Theatre as part of the musical's National Tour, directed by Intiman Theatre Artistic Director Bartlett Sher.

The Seattle engagement of The Light in the Piazza will be co-presented by Broadway Across America – Seattle, Intiman Theatre and Seattle Theatre Group. This three-organization partnership marks the first time that these local groups have joined forces to bring a Broadway musical to Seattle.

The musical will be presented at The Paramount Theatre, and will be included on both the 2006-2007 subscription series of Broadway Across America – Seattle and the 2007 season of Intiman Theatre. Subscription sales information will be forthcoming from both organizations. Single tickets will go on sale in Spring 2007.

The Light the Piazza, now running on Broadway under Sher's direction, had its world premiere at Intiman in 2003. Most recently nominated for a Grammy, it is the winner of six 2005 Tony Awards.

"The National Tour of The Light in the Piazza is a great thing," say Sher and Intiman Managing Director Laura Penn. "We are especially thrilled that it will be coming through Seattle. It is very special for all of us and our collaborators to bring it home to the city that helped develop it, and to the Intiman Theatre audiences that were so much a part of its creation."

"When we were initially approached to present Piazza on our Broadway series at The Paramount Theatre, we immediately recognized the importance of including Intiman," said Jim Sheeley, Vice President of Broadway Across America – Seattle. "As the originating producer of the musical, we knew that Intiman's participation would be integral to making this a true homecoming engagement. Working cooperatively with Seattle Theatre Group, we were able to extend the engagement to two weeks. This will be a ground-breaking experience for all of us."

"The Paramount Theatre is delighted to welcome The Light in the Piazza to its historic stage," says Josh LaBelle, Seattle Theatre Group Executive Director. "Our unique partnership will allow Seattle to experience and celebrate the triumphant return of this award-winning gem."
