The 5th Avenue Musical Theatre Company's high-profile 2006-2007 season will include several touring shows, some classic musicals and one world premiere, Broadway-bound musical.

The season will kick off on September 12, 2006 with the national tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber and A.R. Rahman's Bombay Dreams.

The theatre will next present Stephen Sondheim's Company, winner of six 1971 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The show will run from October 17th through November 5th.

White Christmas will arrive in time for the holidays, playing from November 28th through December 17th. The 5th Avenue will be one of four theatres in America producing this classic Irving Berlin Christmas movie musical.

The Broadway-bound Cry-Baby will be seen from February 13th through March 4th, 2007; the show is based upon the Universal Pictures film written and directed by
John Waters. Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan from Hairspray's Tony Award-winning creative team, have written the show's book. Adam Schlesinger (bassist/songwriter for Fountains of Wayne) and David Javerbaum (Emmy Award-winning writer for "The Daily Show") wrote the score.

British stage and film legend, Michael York will star as King Arthur in a new touring production of Lerner and Loewe's Camelot which will run from March 20th through April 8th.

Edward Scissorhands will play Seattle from April 25th through May 13th as part of a limited tour that includes Los Angeles and New York. The new dance musical without words, based on the Tim Burton film, is devised, directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne (Swan Lake) and New Adventures.

A new production of West Side Story, running from May 29th through June 17th, will celebrate the groundbreaking musical's 50th anniversary. A co-production with Spectrum Dance Theatre, the show, with a score by Leonard Bernstein and
Stephen Sondheim and a book by Arthur Laurents, will include a full orchestra and a large cast of nearly 40 actors, singers and dancers.
