The Lakewood Playhouse is proud to reveal the surprise they have been creating all season long, through each of this season's six show posters -- each of the six individual posters connect to form one large multi-part image! Scroll down to take a look!
Designed by Local Tacoma Artist, James Stowe, the six posters from this season's shows (ARSENIC & OLD LACE, PRIDE & PREJUDICE, WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF, 12 ANGRY MEN, THE ODD COUPLE and Monty Python's SPAMALOT) all link together to create a larger, uniformed image.
"This is something that has never been done locally or in our regional theatre community," said Lakewood Playhouse Managing Artistic Director, John Munn, "And keeping a Special Surprise like this all Season-Long has been very, very difficult. It's like watching your best friend unwrap this really cool gift you want to give them...but having them reveal parts of it, month by month, over a ten month span!!"
Each of the Posters of this season was a testament to James Stowe's abilities as an artist, graphic designer and fan of all things whimsical.
"We have a few more special surprises," Munn continued, "Not only will James Stowe will be the featured artist in our lobby gallery during MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT (opening June 13th) -- Mr. Stowe will also making a special appearance at our 2nd Annual Party on the Patio, June 14th, at 5:30pm!!! James Stowe will be signing posters from this season as well as selling prints of his other work. We're very excited to have him as our guest on this very special Day!"
The PARTY ON THE PATIO kicks off at 4:00pm and was established last year to be an annual celebration of all of the volunteers, actors and artisans that make our season possible. It also serves as our Annual Meeting to let our patrons know how the last year has gone for our theatre and the plans we have for its future!
