Be drawn into the moonlight as Tacoma Little Theatre opens its 96th Season with William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
This production of Shakespeare's comedy is directed by Suzy Willhoft and will add a contemporary staging twist on the classic play. Four young lovers (Steven Walker, MacKenzie Ikeru, Myia Johnson, Cassie Jo Fastabend) escape into the forest in defiance of parental commands. They wander into the fairy world, ruled by a King and Queen (Mark Peterson & Nicole Lockett) who happen to be quarreling. The King and his servant sprite Puck (Xander Mobus) cause mayhem among the lovers with a magic potion, which also affects a group of six amateur actors (Kaitlin Dresdner, Michael Griswold, Everett McCracken, Adrianna Littlejohn, Courtney Rainer, Ali Rose Schultz), leading to hilarious consequences. Mistaken identities, love potions, mischievous sprites and seriously amateur acting weave together for an enchanting adventure.
A Midsummer Night's Dream will run Friday, September 19, 2014 until Sunday, October 5, 2014. Friday and Saturday showings are at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm. This show is recommended for all ages.
