Ovation! Musical Theatre Bainbridge is proud to present the Tony Award winning musical CABARET this summer on Bainbridge Island.

Set in 1930 Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power, CABARET focuses on nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub and revolves around young English cabaret performer Sally Bowles and her relationship with young American writer Cliff Bradshaw. A sub-plot involves the doomed romance between German boarding house owner Fräulein Schneider and her suitor Herr Schultz, a Jewish fruit vendor. Overseeing the action is the Master of Ceremonies at the Kit Kat Klub which serves as a constant metaphor for the tenuous and threatening state of affairs in Germany throughout the show.
Over the course of its Broadway premiere in 1966 and two subsequent revivals, CABARET has won 12 Tony Awards and three Drama Desk awards. In 1972 it was made into the Oscar winning movie of the same name.

The production is directed by Ron Milton, Ovation!'s Artistic Director. "For many years I have hoped to have the opportunity to bring this story to life. The story, the commentary on the human condition, the fantastic music and dance - it's a perfect mosaic," he said. "I couldn't be happier with the fabulous cast and the amazing dancers," he added.

CABARET features a brilliant score crowded with such songs and dance numbers as Wilkommen, Don't Tell Mama, The Money Song, Tomorrow Belongs to Me, Two Ladies, Married, If You Could See Her and many others. Ovation!'s production features a live orchestra, under the baton of Corinna Lapid-Munter, Conductor and Music Director.

The Ovation! CABARET cast features Kathryn Donais McKinstry as Sally Bowles, Carter Kight as The Master of Ceremonies, Tavis Hamilton as Clifford Bradshaw, Alex MacKay as Ernst Ludwig, Diane Peterson as Fräulein Kost, Marijane Milton as Fräulein Schneider and Todd Baylor as Herr Schultz. The Kit Kat Klub Dancers are Taylor Hebert, Jessica Rieken, Ashli Roberts, Kiplinn Sagmiller and Sophie Tschida. The ensemble also features Melanie Medina, SueEllen VanDuyne, J.C. Figueroa, Terri Valentine, Madelaine Figueroa, William "Cade" Strong, Marybeth Borgwardt and Viktor Gazarian.

Barbara Klingberg, an experienced costumer with Broadway credits, is Costume Designer, assisted by Kathy Doll. Babette Gazarian-Cherné, a former dancer with the American Ballet Theatre and the Joffrey Ballet, serves as Choreographer.
