Showtunes Theatre Company has announced their highly anticipaeted holiday concert musical LEAP OF FAITH. The talented cast of local musical theatre professionals will "rise up" gospel-style for two performances at Benaroya Hall on December 3 at 8pm and December 4 at 2pm. Louis Hobson, who performed in the original Broadway cast, will star as Jonas. Matt Giles directs with Nathan Young working as the music director.

LEAP OF FAITH is the perfect post-election / pre-holiday show and a rare opportunity to enjoy this musical gem that has never been performed in the Northwest. The outstanding score is by Alan Menken who also wrote scores for The Little Mermaid (currently at the 5th Avenue Theatre) Beauty & the Beast and Aladdin.

LEAP OF FAITH is the story of a con-man evangelist who rolls into a tiny Kansas town full of people who lead him on a true path to redemption. It is based on the 1992 Steve Martin film and features a soaring gospel music score. Showtunes artistic director Matt Wolfe explains, "We planned the show long before we knew how badly Seattle audiences would need to take a post-election leap of faith. Now we know the lessons from this musical offer broader hope and meaning. I am incredibly excited and proud to be a part of bringing this concert musical to Seattle."

Ten musicians join a talented cast (performing "on book") that includes: Louis Hobson, Michele Ankrim, Marlette Buchanan, Chelsea LeValley, Claudine Mboligikpelani Nako, Loucas Curry, Christian West, John Coons, Chandler Thomas, Danielle Barnum, Dani Hobbs, Jadyn Mural, Beth DeVries, Nik Hagen, John Patrick Lowrie, Ellen McLain, Rebecca Norris and Matthew Triplett.

Single tickets ($21-$46) are available now over the phone (206.215.4747) online (www.showtunestheatre.org) or in person at the Benaroya Hall Ticket Office on the corner ofThird Avenue and Union Street. Ticket Office hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Saturday, 1 p.m.-6 p.m.
