BPA Theatre School is delighted to announce open enrollments for the Summer Session (June 29 - August 1).
"You're off to great places! Today is your day! Summer fun's waiting, here at BPA," says Director of Education, Zandi Carlson. "This summer we are taking inspiration from the imaginative world of Dr. Seuss. We believe theatre education provides life-long skills of confidence, collaboration and a joy of learning -- all in a fun and supportive environment. Come build character with us!"
Led by impassioned and experienced teaching artists, BPA Theatre School provides year-round classes and camps for all ages and experience levels.
This summer, we're pleased to offer two charming Creative Drama camps for Grades K - 1: "Oh the Thinks You Can Think" led by Dana Mitchell and Camella Cooper (June 29 - July 3) and "Anything's Possible!" with instructor Camella Cooper (July 13 - 17). Each day's adventure builds onto an enchanting week-long story that students create and act out.
Julia Beers and Camella Cooper lead students, Grades 1 - 3 on an enticing musical adventure. In "Intro to Musical Theatre: SEUSS" (July 27 - 31), students will grow their singing, acting, and dancing skills through the dramatic and spellbinding world of musical theatre!
Led by Director of Education Zandi Carlson, BPA's summer production camp for Grades 4 - 10 (July 6 - 31) offers students the opportunity to rehearse and perform a full production complete with music, choreography, and technical support provided by theatre professionals and experienced instructors. This year's camp focuses on the hit show "SEUSSICAL JR.," in which our best-loved characters collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper featuring numerous solos and fun dances for all levels of experience. An extra week of class is available for Grades 6 - 10 with the "Intermediate Intensive + SEUSSICAL JR. Production Camp" (June 29 - July 3). This intense week of training gives students the tools to tackle leadership roles in our hit summer production SEUSSICAL JR. These two camps culminate in a fantastical musical extravaganza July 30 - August 1 directed by Zandi Carlson, with musical direction by Michelle Abad, and choreography by Heather Dawson.
Not only does BPA Theatre School offer a cadre of top notch teaching artists, three of them (Zandi, Michelle, and Heather) are performing on stage together in The Drowsy Chaperone at Bainbridge Performing Arts May 8 - 24. Zandi says "Heather, Michelle, and I are having a great time working onstage together in The Drowsy Chaperone. We are looking forward to collaborating again on Seussical Jr. this summer."
