New Theater Group focuses on pro-womxn & LGBTQIA-positive roles

A gender-inclusive group, they focus on empowering marginalized folx in all aspects of the theatrical process.

We are community-based organization focused on supporting strong, positive depictions of female and LGBTQIA+ characters onstage and creating opportunities for women and LGBTQIA+ artists backstage. We long to see more female playwrights, more women leads onstage, more people of color, a balance of gender diversity and more people with disabilities performing and working backstage. Mistresspiece Theater empowers and supports all types of artists from different mediums to participate in and grow through theater.

The Seattle Public Library and Mistresspiece Theater are hosting a free panel discussion to discuss female and LGBTQIA+ participation in Seattle theater from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 4, Washington Mutual Foundation Meeting Room 1, 206-386-4636. Mistresspiece Theater will do a promo skit of their all-female holiday production, Float. Show Description -We welcome you to a small, Midwestern town for this heart-warming, modern tale of female friendships and new lesbian romance. It's a struggle to be true to yourself in the uphill battle of The Holidays but we're our best selves when we're with our friends! Float has four performances; December 1st and 15th at 6pm and December 2nd and 16th at 2pm.
