Murphy Returns to 'Broadway Across America'

Sixteen years after opening the Northwest office of what is now Broadway Across America - Seattle, Drew Murphy returns to Seattle as Vice President, Broadway Across America, West Coast, directing business for the Broadway series in Seattle, Portland, OR and Costa Mesa, CA.  Before assuming this position, Mr. Murphy served as President of Broadway Across America - Boston, where he programmed more than 15 weeks of productions each year and oversaw operations of three major theatres, including the Boston Opera House. 
 
Prior to his work in Boston, Drew served as Senior Vice President - Chief Operating Officer for the operations of Broadway Across America's 18 theatres across the country, including the Ford Center for the Performing Arts on Broadway.  He has worked in all aspects of theatre management throughout his 30-plus year career, starting with a ten-year association in New York City with the General Management firm of Gatchell & Neufeld, Inc.

Before moving to the East Coast, Mr. Murphy served for nine years as General Manager of Broadway Across America's Northwest office in Seattle and was instrumental in the Grand Re-Opening of the Paramount Theatre in March, 1995 following its complete renovation. He supervised all aspects of each Broadway series, including programming, ticket sales, advertising, and sponsorship.
 
Prior to joining Broadway Across America, he was Director of Operations and Programming for North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Charlotte; General Manager of Theatres at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, DC; and General Manager of Center Theatre Group / Ahmanson Theatre at the Los Angeles Music Center. Mr. Murphy was also General Manager of the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, where he supervised all theatrical operations for the Pantages and Wilshire Theatres. As well, he worked as a Company Manager for NAMCO and Marvin Krauss Associates, managing the Los Angeles and San Francisco productions of Dreamgirls, La Cage Aux Folles, and My One and Only.
