Award-winning playwright Allison Gregory returns to Macha Monkey Productions for the second time with Cliffhouse, directed by Live Girls! Artistic Director Meghan Arnette. The show will run tonight, March 8 - March 30, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm Richard Hugo House, 1634 11th Ave, Seattle. Tickets are available through Brown Paper Tickets at cliffhouse.brownpapertickets.com.
The Cliffhouse is an ideal place to shed the stress and strain of daily living-until three strangers discover they are the unwilling guests. Under the watchful eye of their odd host, Cliff, it's clear that The Cliffhouse is more than a mere resort, and they won't leave until they uncover the real reason why they are there.
Cliffhouse features Vincent Delaney, Meaghan Halverson, Troy Lund, and Macha Monkey's Artistic Director Kristina Sutherland.
Macha Monkey Productions presents its second Allison Gregory play after its critically acclaimed production of Fall Off Night in 2006. Allison Gregory's plays have been produced and developed all over the country, and include Forcing Hyacinths (Julie Harris Playwriting Award; South Coast Repertory Theatre's California Playwrights Award); Fall Off Night (Garland Award, L.A); Burning Bridget Cleary (Seattle Times Award, Best New Play, Seattle), among others. She has received grants, commissions, and development from Seattle's Arts and Cultural Affairs Office, Seattle Dramatists, South Coast Repertory, ACT Theatre, The Kennedy Center, The Skirball-Kenis Foundation, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Seattle Children's Theatre, Childsplay, The Empty Space, Northwest Playwright's Alliance, and Hedgebrook Playwright's Foundation. Eastman book and co-written with Steven Dietz; Even Steven Goes to War ("Zoni" Best New Script Award; AATE and UPRP awards; Kennedy Center New Visions/New Voices selection); Peter and the Wolf (Seattle Times Award, Best New Play; Natl. tour), and Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells!, based on the book series by Barbara Park, for which her children think she's a "rock star."
