Macha Monkey rings in the New Year and begins its 11th season of female theatre with the premiere of the comically dismal THEBES by playwright and Macha Monkey co-founder and Artistic Director Kristina Sutherland.

THEBES is a world premiere dark comedy by Macha Monkey Artistic Director Kristina Sutherland (Nominated for a 2010 Gregory Award for playwriting, author of Franklin and Figaro and co-author of Nancy, Frank and Joe, a 2010 American Theatre Critics nominated play) about
returning to your roots when you and everyone else has changed. Mary Johnston’s campaign for mayor gets derailed when her daughter, Erica, returns home from war unexpectedly. How does a family deal with the battles Erica drags back with her to her small town?
