Macha Monkey continues its 10th season of fearless, funny, female theatre with a special remount of the sold-out HEARTS ARE MONSTERS by Seattle playwright Kelleen Conway Blanchard. This production, done in partnership with Theatre Off Jackson, will run from Friday, March 4 to Saturday, March 26.
What would you do if your murdered father's ghost came and asked you to seek revenge? What would you do if you were a brilliant but awkward 16-year-old girl with a colony of naked mole rats in your bedroom? If the boy you adored wrote songs about pilgrims and can't remember your name? If your twin sister was a debauched former child star? If your boozing mother clung to her memories of tropical trysts? The answers can be found in Kelleen Conway Blanchard's HEARTS ARE MONSTERS.
The original cast of HEARTS ARE MONSTERS will return for this production. It includes Joey Gilmore as Jack, Karen Heaven as Mother, Erin Pike as Wendy, Erin Stewart as Marcy and James Weidman as Coach Snell.

Playwright Blanchard is the author of Edith's Head and Small Town. She is a performer and playwright whose works have been produced in Seattle at the Annex Theatre, 14/48, On The Boards' 12 Minutes Max, The Mae West Fest, and as part of FringeACT.
Director Bret Fetzer is the former Artistic Director of Annex Theatre and the author of many stage plays and fairy tales. Bret's recent directing credits include Matt Smith's All My Children and Kelleen Conway Blanchard's Small Town.
