Standing tall at 4'11", Leslie Jordan's comedic brilliance will undoubtedly soar to new heights when he joins Seattle Men's Chorus (SMC) for their Summer Concert, Comedy Tonight!, at McCaw Hall June 27 & 28th. Together Jordan and the Chorus will tickle Seattle's funny bone and perform some of the funniest musical works that were (not so coincidentally) either, written, conceived, directed or performed by some this country's most hilarious gay men. The worlds of musical theater, television, cartoons, and movies provide an embarrassment of riches when it comes to comedy material. Leslie Jordan will perform select numbers from his repertoire; including work from his new one man show My Trip Down the Pink Carpet based on his new book of the same name to be released in June, 2008 by Simon and Schuster.SMC artistic director Dennis Coleman and assistant artistic director Eric Lane Barnes will recreate or adapt familiar works from the likes of The Marx Brothers, Stephen Sondheim, Monty Python, Mel Brooks, Carol Burnett, and Noel Coward. Righteously Outrageous Twirling Corps (R.O.T.C.) as well as members of Seattle Women's Chorus will join in the fun for select numbers.
