Kirkland Arts Center Holds REDUX Fundraiser, 10/8

On Friday, October 8, Kirkland Arts Center hosts its second annual fundraiser event: REDUX, a one-of-a kind benefit party.  Each year, REDUX begins with a blank canvas, taking on a different artistic theme.  For this, our second year of REDUX, KAC presents Architecture with a contemporary twist.

In addition to a great selection of art from the artists listed below, exclusive experiences such as a tour of Dale Chihuly's studio, great food, wine, golf, travel packages (to places like Kauai, Scottsdale, and Beverly Hills), and more are yours for the bidding in the REDUX Live Auction.

Highlights from the evening's artistic programming will include:

REDUX Studio Challenge: Some of the donating artists will be creating new works of art that address this year's architectural theme. KAC's expert panel (Stefano Catalani, Amanda Kitchings, and Greg Kucera) will select five participating artists to compete for a $1,000 prize, and YOU vote for the winner at the event!

The MoMA  - Museum of Miniature Art:  KAC will display architect Ariel Kemp's model museum (filled with miniature works by the region's best artists) as well as new additions - a series of artist-designed wings to the museum built around their own miniature installation work.

Robot Art Critics:  Bruce Hemingway, of the UW's Department of Computer Science and Engineering will create miniature robot art critics (Jen Gears and Regina Sprocket) that walk the museum and project what they see onto the walls of the Meydenbauer Center.
