BroadwayWorld.com's Critic's Choice Award-Winning show Judy Sings Judy is a theatrical concert starring Judy Ann Moulton that celebrates the music of the legendary Judy Garland. Judy Ann and her 8-piece orchestra will bring to life the classic Judy Garland catalog of songs for one show only at 7:30pm on May 11, 2013 at Icicle Creek Center for the Arts' newest venue, the Snowy Owl Theater, Icicle Creek Center for the Arts, 7409 Icicle Road, Leavenworth, WA. The show is compiled and directed by David Hunter Koch, noted national director and playwright, and the creator and producing director of Seattle's preeminent cabaret theatre, Cabaret De Paris from 1988-2003.
In this production, Judy Ann takes a look back to her inspiration for singing: her family full of professional singers, and The Judy Garland Show on CBS-TV that introduced Judy Ann to the music that inspired her and her family. Judy Garland was a phenomenal performer and a Hollywood legend, whose talent continues to inspire generations of performers, and Judy Sings Judy is Judy Ann's tribute to the great songstress.
Having participated in the prestigious International Cabaret Conference at Yale University, Judy Ann with her orchestra will draw from every facet of Ms. Garland'scareer in radio, movies, television, and the concert stage, and she promises to entertain audiences as she performs the songs of Judy Garland, in her own rich, expressive voice that has been described as "nothing short of amazing" (Seattle Times). Judy is joined by Conductor/Piano Rob Jones, Bass - Jon Miller, Drums - Don Dieterich, Alto Sax - Lisa Gordanier, Tenor Sax - Rich Cole, Baritone Sax - Beverly Setzer, Trumpet - Andy Omdahl, Trombone - Bill Anthony.
Judy Ann has performed this original program to enthusiastic audiences in the Pacific Northwest from Federal Way to Bellevue to Everett, in sunny Palm Springs, CA, and in places as far away as Winchester, England. Judy Sings Judy broke box-office records at its 2010 engagement at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, WA.
A member of Actors Equity Association and the Pacific Northwest Cabaret Association, Judy Ann has been performing on Pacific Northwest stages for over 20 years, including the 5th Avenue, Village Theatre, Bellevue Civic Theatre, and Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre. Some of Judy's favorite roles so far are Princess Puffer in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Old Lady in Candide, Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun, the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and the title role in Mame.
Don't miss Judy Sings Judy at the Snowy Owl Theatre, for one performance only, Saturday, May 11, 2013. Produced by Icicle Creek Center for the Arts and Papillon Productions, LLC.
