James Rocco Joins Fellow Broadway Vets in 'MUSIC & MEMORIES' at The Key City Public Theatre, 8/23-24

James A. Rocco, VP of Programming and Producing Artistic Director of The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in St. Paul, is travelling west this weekend to share Broadway Music & Memories with his longtime friends and colleagues, Carol Swarbrick and Linda Dowdell at The Key City Public Theatre in Port Townsend, WA.

Broadway Music & Memories brings back to Key City Public Theatre (KCPT) Broadway vets, Carol Swarbrick and Linda Dowdell. Each week, a different Broadway star joins this dynamic duo in the cozy and intimate cabaret setting of Port Townsend's Key City Playhouse.?This weekend Carol and Linda's guest will be James A. Rocco, who starred as The Rum Tum Tugger on Broadway in CATS, travelled the country as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar and was the featured co-star with the Duke Ellington Band in Sophisticated Ladies. His recent CD produced the unexpected FMQB Top 40 hit And The Night Stood Still.

Rocco began his career as the youngest member of a troupe of travelling kiddies called the Art Linkletter Totten Tots, went on to tour with Ray Walston in Oliver and John Raitt in Carousel before settling into a prolific "adult" career as a director, producer, writer and actor. Rocco, who is a real life Broadway Baby, will shares stories and songs from his 30 year career that will include a smattering of Gershwin, Porter, and the Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz gem, Cold Enough To Snow, from his latest CD release.

Key City's Artistic Director, Denise Winter, directs the festivities and said, ?"Pairing Carol Swarbrick's charismatic skills as both a singer/actress and a hostess with the tasty delightful musical direction of Linda Dowdell has been a treat for our audiences." Dowdell said "adding different performers to the mix on each weekend has been thrilling."

Join them for timeless Broadway songs from across the decades and insider memories of life on the musical stage in the cozy cabaret setting of the Key City Public Theatre.
