The campaign to raise money for Intiman Theatre's survival took a significant step forward today with the arrival of a $100,000 challenge gift. The gift came from an anonymous donor just as the theatre is to open All My Sons, the first production in the 2011 Season.

"This generous grant provides us with an opportunity to raise at least $200,000 in a short amount of time," said Paul Lawrence, chair of Intiman's Finance Committee. "We're grateful for this matching opportunity, and we're working hard to spread the word. We are asking everyone for whatever support they can give now."

According to the terms of the match, beginning today, Friday, March 25, 2011, all donations towards the Impact Intiman campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the anonymous donor. While there is no time limit on meeting the match, it is Intiman's hope that it will be achieved by March 31st.
Intiman has currently raised $200,000 towards its $500,000 goal for the end of March, and needs an additional $250,000 by June, plus an additional $250,000 by September. The total need of $1 million is above and beyond the theatre's 2011 annual fundraising goal.
Donations can be made online at the theatre's website at www.intiman.org/impact-intiman.

Seasonal support for Intiman Theatre is provided by ArtsFund; Intiman Theatre Foundation; Kreielsheimer Remainder Foundation; The Leading National Theatres Program, a joint initiative of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation; National Endowment for the Arts; The Shubert Foundation; and Washington State Arts Commission.
