Intiman Theatre and Seattle Theatre Group invite audiences to the 13th annual holiday event with a jolt of soul - now being performed at The Moore Theatre. The production moves from its longtime location at Intiman Theatre to the historic venue to offer more seats when audiences want to see the show, doubling the ability to accommodate patrons when the holiday spirit is at its highest. The exciting partnership will bring a new set design, updated costumes and improved musical acoustics for Seattle's lively holiday production.

Black Nativity retells the Christmas story in the first act through the words of the great American poet, Langston Hughes; the second act transforms the stage into a joyous "nondenominational church" that unites artists and audiences of different faiths, ages, backgrounds and beliefs through the heart-stirring power of song, story and dance.

Joining the artistic team this year is choreographer Donald Byrd of Spectrum Dance Theater, with returning leadership from director Jacqueline Moscou and music director and arranger, Pastor Patrinell Wright. This year's production will feature actors Earley Dean, Josephine Howell and Pastor Alphonso Meadows with Pastor Wright in the leading roles, and principal dancers Bojohn Diciple and Amber Mayberry. Members of Pastor Wright's Total Experience Gospel Choir make up a large portion of the singers in the Black Nativity Choir.

"We are excited to continue our ling-time partnership with Intiman Theatre to co-present Seattle's beloved holiday tradition, Black Nativity at the historic Moore Theatre, giving the production room to grow well into the future," said Josh Labelle STG Executive Director. "STG values Intiman Theatre for their bold productions and their lasting impact on the arts community and arts patrons."
