Seattle audiences can enjoy a sneak preview of 3 great local improv acts September 17 at Improvaganza Preview Night: Seattle Edition, before they head west to Improvaganza - Hawaii Festival of Improv.

The Great Puppet Happiness Machine (by Puppet This), Super Mega Art Show and Dirty Laundry were chosen from an international pool of applicants to appear at the 6th annual Improvaganza.

Improvaganza is Hawaii's only festival dedicated to improvised comedy and theatre. Once a year, improvisers from all over the world come to Honolulu for a weekend of performances, workshops, and events. Improvaganza is the brainchild of Hawaiian improviser and festival executive producer Garrick Paikai.

The Great Puppet Happiness Machine: For puppets, being ecstatically happy is the status quo, so what do they do when they discover that one of their own is suddenly and shockingly sad? Luckily for them, mad scientist Professor Mysterio has created a machine that will keep everyone happy for the rest of time.....or else.

This musical improvised show combines adult improv savvy with the style of classic children's shows (The Bugaloos, H.R. Pufnstuf) to transform your fears, bad days and tragedies and into happiness any way they can. Even if that means singing about kittens.

Directed by David Wahl and created by David Wahl, Rachel Jackson, and Elizabeth Westermann, The Great Puppet Happiness Machine features puppeteers: Rachel Jackson, Ryan Miller, Michael Robles, Jenny Schmidt and Elizabeth Westermann, with music by Brad Kevelin.

Super Mega Art Show: If there's one criticism most people have of performance art it's that it's not pretentious enough. Hanz and Hiemen are here to solve that problem. These two fake foreign artists make more artistic art in a minute than most artists make in a lifetime.

Art is Truth. Truth is Pain. Pain is Funny. Super Mega Art Show.

Created by Dartanion London and Graham Downing.

Dirty Laundry: (from Wing-It Productions) is an improvised couples therapy play that takes a comedic look at love, lust and relationships. We take a couple from the audience and thrust them into therapy to show just how close they are to making up... or breaking up. The therapy session drives the show through flashbacks, flash-forwards, and hypothetical scenarios as we explore the crazy ups and downs of love!

Directed by Justin Sund and created by Kaci Boyle, Dirty Laundry features Jeremy Brown, Keli Carender, Conor McNassor, Ryan Miller and Jen Rizor.

About Puppet This: Puppet This is a Seattle based puppet Production Company working in puppet design, construction and performance. Puppet This designs and constructs puppets for their own scripted and improv productions and also provides puppets for other Seattle area artists. Dedicated to all things puppet-y, co-owners Rachel Jackson and Elizabeth Westermann believe puppets aren't just for children.

About Eclectic Theater Company: Eclectic Theater Company is a professional theatre company that produces original, new, contemporary, and re-envisioned classics for the stage and screen.
