New for 2017, Forward Flux Productions is thrilled to introduce the Studio 45 workshop series, with the inaugural production of Pilgrims by Claire Kiechel, playing May 16 - 20th, 8pm, at West of Lenin Studio.

Studio 45 gives a creative team 4 weeks to workshop a new play working closely with the playwright, with 5 public performances. The focus of this series is on acting craft and storytelling, with a design team also part of the process creating a fully realized world for the play.

Pilgrims is a psychological thriller about a soldier, a girl, and a robot who are quarantined in a spaceship while traveling to colonize a newly discovered planet. It was included on the Kilroy List, 2016 (a list of the best new plays by female and trans playwrights from around the nation).

Guests can get a behind the scenes look at bringing this new play to the stage by joining select open rehearsals. Members of Club X at the XPRESS level or above, or guests who purchase VIP or Behind the Scenes package tickets will receive an invite. Other ticket buyers can request an invite after ticket purchase.

In addition, after each public performance there will be an optional 20min conversation with the cast and creative team to gather valuable audience feedback as the play readies for its' world premiere later this year in Chicago. The playwright will be joining us in person for the May 20th performance.

Pilgrims is directed by Forward Flux Creative Director, Emily Penick, and stars Ian Bond, Rachel Guyer-Mafune and Alaji Marie. The Production Stage Manager is Andy Buffelen and the Assistant Director is Haley Butler Bates, with design by ZAnna Paulson (lights), Jordan Gerow (set), Erin Bednarz (sound) and Wesley Frugé (costumes). The program and performances are at the West of Lenin Studio in Fremont.

Tickets range from $5-$75 and are available in advance at forwardflux.com. Due to the intimate nature of the performance space and the limited run, tickets are extremely limited.
