Forward Flux Productions has announced the cast for the West Coast premiere of THE WEDDING GIFT by Chisa Hutchinson, and the world premiere of THE SUMMER HOUSE by Sarah Bernstein. For the second year in a row, Forward Flux will present two new plays in the same theatre, allowing audiences to choose one, or see both in one night with show times at 7pm and 9pm. Each play runs around 80mins and has no intermission (as it should be).

Headlining the plays are a pair of powerhouse young actresses: Tori Nelson (THE SUMMER HOUSE) and Nazlah Black (THE WEDDING GIFT). Joining Nelson in THE SUMMER HOUSE are Te Yelland and Cameron Hodges. Joining Black in THE WEDDING GIFT are Haley Alaji, Charhys Bailey, Tré Calhoun, Marquicia Dominguez, Brace Evans, Varsha Raghavan, Andrew Shanks and Lance Valdez.

"We're thrilled to bring the daring voices of these two rising playwright stars to Seattle," says Producing Artistic Director Wesley Frugé. "Chisa Hutchinson and Sarah Bernstein have written plays that are incredibly timely, modern, entertaining and deeply unsettling."

THE WEDDING GIFT is a dark comedy set so far in the future it's stupid. It centers on an ordinary dude named Doug who suddenly finds himself at an other-worldly wedding... as a gift. Partial funding is provided by 4Culture.

THE SUMMER HOUSE is a darkly comic thriller about three teens who are haunted by the recent disappearance of a local girl as their summer of drugs and partying comes to an end. Summer is over. Forever.

Chisa Hutchinson is currently the Tow Foundation Fellow resident playwright at Second Stage in NYC. She is the recipient of a GLAAD Award, the Humanitas New Voices Award and the Lanford Wilson Award.

Sarah Bernstein has a BA from Brown University, where she studied playwriting with Bonnie Metzgar and Paula Vogel. Forward Flux has been working with her for over a year to develop THE SUMMER HOUSE after presenting it at The Flux Salon in , and Bernstein will be in Seattle from NYC several times this summer to workshop the piece before its' world premiere.

Tickets start at just $5 and are available starting July 19th. Double feature packages will also be available. Visit ForwardFlux.com to learn more.
