The Tacoma Children's Musical Theater continues to grow as it enters its exciting seventh season at TMP. Presented by our Mainstage adult performers, these fully-staged musicals based on classic and children's literature are geared toward young and old alike, and are a great way to introduce young members to the theatergoing process. These productions are a great way for TMP to offer additional family-friendly opportunities to supplement our regular Mainstage programming.

The 2012-13 TCMT season of shows includes three fantastically-fun stories of contemporary children's literature:

ALEXANDER & THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY
November 3-11, 2012
School Group Matinees: November 6th and 8th
Book and Lyrics by Judith Viorst
Music by Shelly Markham

Alexander is having one of those days. Well, one of those days in the eyes of an 8-year-old. He wakes up with gum in his hair, his best friends abandon him on the playground, and his mom forgets to put dessert in his lunch box. Then there's the dentist office, lima beans and kissing on TV! The only solution, of course, is to pack up and move to Australia. This delightful musical adaptation of Judith Viorst's popular book about Alexander's struggles with life's daily dramas is sure to entertain audiences of all ages!

The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley
February 16-24, 2013
School Group Matinees: February 21st and 26th
Book by Timothy Allen McDonald
Lyrics by Timothy Allen McDonald & Jonathan K. Waller
Music by Jonathan K. Waller, David Weinstein, Timothy Allen McDonald & Stephen Gabriel
Based on the book Flat Stanley by JefF Brown

Stanley Lambchop is your ordinary, everyday, run-of-the-mill ten-year-old. That's just the problem...for Stanley, life is too normal. He wants to travel the world, do something amazing, see something no one's ever seen before. Careful what you wish for Stanley! The most unusual turn of events results in a whirlwind musical travelogue for a solution to Stanley's most unusual problem.

Freckleface Strawberry
March 9-17, 2013
School Group Matinees: March 14th and 19th
Music and Lyrics by Gary Kupper
Book by Gary Kupper and Rose Caiola
Based on the books written by Julianne Moore

Freckleface Strawberry will do anything to get rid of her freckles – from scrubbing them with soap, to caking on makeup, and even wearing a ski mask to school! Will her schoolmates realize it's her under the mask? Will Freckleface be brave enough to finally face her complexion in the mirror? Based on the beloved New York Times Best Selling book by celebrated actress Julianne Moore, this brand new musical brings you and your family inside the book's pages with Freckleface and friends as they learn to love the skin they're in. And what a story you'll see!

For teachers, all TCMT productions will offer additional mid-week student group matinee performances this season. See the website at www.tmp.org/groups.aspx for information on booking your school group and then contact the Box Office to make your reservations early because these performances do sell out well in advance.

Each of these productions will run for six weekend performances – Saturdays at 2 pm and 5pm, and Sundays at 2 pm. All performances will take place at Tacoma Musical Playhouse, 7116 6th Avenue in Tacoma. All seating for TMP Mainstage and TCMT productions is reserved, so advance purchase is strongly recommended.

Single show tickets for all TCMT productions are now available online or through the TMP Box Office. Single ticket prices for 2012-13 TCMT shows are $19 for adults; $17 for seniors, students and military; and $12 for children 12 and under.
