Shades of Green is about an accountant for the Pittsburgh archdiocese who is requested to meet a convicted serial murder 19 days before his execution. A spellbinding play about integrity that, with every turn asks, what would you do?

At Theatre 9/12, trained and working actors, both union and non-union, continue to develop their talents and skills through workshops and performances. Their efforts climax with productions presented through the Actors' Equity Association Members' Project Code. Theatre 9/12 staff assists these union actors in making these projects come to life.

CHARLES WAXBERG is a director, author and award winning playwright with over a dozen productions in New York City, LA, and now Seattle. Waxberg's early career earned him recognition as an educator at Carnegie-Mellon University, Instructor and Conservatory Director for the Roundabout Theatre Conservatory, a Script Analyst and Program Director for The Stella Adler Conservatory and an occasional director at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Waxberg relocated to Los Angeles where he continued teaching at the Stella Adler Los Angeles Academy and became the founding Artistic Director for the UNITAS Theatre Company. In 2006 Waxberg relocated to Seattle where he became the founding Artistic Director of Seattle's acclaimed Balagan theatre. He is currently the founding Artistic Director of Theatre 9/12, where he sometimes directs. His book, The Actor's Script–Script Analysis for Performers was published by Heinemann Books in 1998 and is currently in its 13th printing.

PAUL O'CONNELL directed Jason and Medea, Oddwoman of Pioneer Square and two of the one acts in Act One: Six Sundays for Theatre 9/12 before stepping onstage as Firs in 9/12's The Cherry Orchard. n administrative leader in theatres throughout the country, he directed shows in Seattle for the renowned Group Theatre, the Northwest Asian Theatre and Playworks. He also directed for theatres in Oregon, Texas and Illinois. As General Manager for the Playwrights Center in Minneapolis, Paul strengthened his belief in the power of theatre to engage audiences in communal consideration of personal values. His four equally curious grand daughters now amply feed his passion for change.
