Edmonds Public Facilities District (EPFD) has extended the application deadline for two open Board positions. The District seeks two qualified candidates to join its five-member Board of Directors. The two positions will remain open until filled.

Edmonds Public Facilities District is the municipal corporation that owns and operates Edmonds Center for the Arts (ECA), a premier regional performing arts venue and a historically significant facility in the heart of downtown Edmonds, WA. The EPFD Board works in partnership with a separate not-for-profit Board of 20 members (ECA Board) to ensure the financial health and operating success of the Center.

These two Board positions will open at end of June, 2013, as a result of the retirement of two founding members of Edmonds Public Facilities District, John McGibbon and Terry Vehrs. Mr. McGibbon and Mr. Vehrs have been the only two members to serve as Board Presidents since the District was established in 2001. Under their leadership Edmonds Center for the Arts was conceptualized, the historic Edmonds High School auditorium was renovated, and the Center's programs and services flourished in the first seven years of operation.

Serving nearly 60,000 people each year, Edmonds Center for the Arts brings 25 exciting presentations to the stage annually; serves as a home for partner organizations such as Cascade Symphony Orchestra, Sno-King Community Chorale and Olympic Ballet Theatre; boasts a classic gymnasium that is active year-round with sports activities; and also contains classroom spaces available for meetings and events. The Center has an estimated annual economic impact of $3M, and provides vital arts and cultural activities that build community and enhance the quality of life locally and regionally.

Members of the Edmonds PFD Board are appointed by the Edmonds City Council. Applicants need not reside in the City of Edmonds.

Application deadline: open until filled. For an application, please visit the administrative office at Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 4th Ave N, Edmonds, 98020, or call 425-275-4483 for more information. Applications will also be available on the Edmonds Center for the Arts website at www.ec4arts.org. Click on "About Us," then click "Board." Application and information will also be posted on the City of Edmonds website at www.edmondswa.gov under City Government/Boards & Commissions.
