Annex Theatre rounds out its 30th season with Deers, written by Marcus Gorman and co-directed by Tootsie Spangles and Quiqui Dominguez.

Antic animals drink away their troubles with friends and foes at a mountain tavern in the Cascades, where every bunny knows your name. Share a pint as these creatures encounter love, laughs, and their own primal natures. Beginning with the pilot and ending with a very special series finale, Deers follows critters of all shapes and sizes over four episodes of this strange and unusual live sitcom.

Marcus Gorman is a writer and performer from the Bay Area. Currently, he's employed at SIFF as a film programmer and publications associate editor. Gorman is a company member at Annex Theatre and this will be his fifth show here; wrote the black comedy Natural (2015) and performed in Gone Wild! (2014), Mad Scientist Cabaret (2015), and ACME (2017). Gorman's sixth show with Annex is Peggy: The Plumber Who Saved the Galaxy, co-written with Jake Farley and directed by L. Nicol Cabe, which premieres in the fall of 2018.

Co-Directors Tootsie Spangles and Quiqui Dominguez are no strangers to the Annex stage. Tootsie is a member of the inter*arts gang The Libertinis (the geniuses behind this summer's Nite Skool). Quiqui Dominguez was the dramaturg for Waning and made her Annex debut in the critically-acclaimed Black Like Us. These two make the perfect team for this weird show about taking chances and cherishing life's small victories.

Deers performs October 24 through November 8, Tuesdays & Wednesdays. PWYC Industry night is Monday, November 6. $10-$15 Sliding Scale Tickets. All performances are at 7:30 pm at Annex Theatre at the corner of 11th & Pike in Capitol Hill.

Last Stop on Lilac
Written by Kelleen Conway Blanchard

Sweet-faced Bunny Le Blanc brought her bright lights to 1960s Hollywood, a technicolor land of fever dreams, and now she's dead. Last seen on luxurious Lilac Lane, home to glamorous stars and faded legends, someone on this street murdered Bunny, but who? The sexy starlet? The martini-soaked prima donna? The swinging bachelors in the pink bungalow? Something deadly happened on Lilac Lane. Something secret, involving sacrifices, Tupperware, and Go-Go dancing knife fights.
