Balagan Theatre will present the world premiere of ThanksKilling the musical, adapted from the eponymous cult-hit horror movie about a possessed turkey on a deadly mission to avenge his tortured ancestors, Friday, November 29, through Saturday, December 14, in the Cornish Playhouse Studio at Seattle Center. Single tickets are on sale now at balagantheatre.org.
From the creators of TRAILS (which received its world premiere production earlier this year at Village Theatre), ThanksKilling features music by Jeff Thomson (Pump Up the Volume, Jawbreaker, TRAILS) and lyrics by Jordan Mann (TRAILS, Jawbreaker), was conceived in partnership with David Eck, and is adapted from the film by Jordan Downey and Kevin Stewart.
Directed by veteran improv artist Douglas Willott, ThanksKilling tells the hilarious (and often hilariously offensive) story of five college kids headed home for Thanksgiving break who cross paths with a homicidal turkey possessed by an ancient Indian curse. Horror and hilarity ensue as the teens - an ensemble of familiar Balagan faces including Kody Bringman (Next to Normal, CARRIE), Brian Lange (Avenue Q, CARRIE), and Lindsey Larson (LES MISERABLES, ThanksKilling workshop) - must stop the maniac bird before he kills them all.
Kimberly Dare serves as Music Director, with lighting design by Ahren Buhmann, set design by Noel Barbuto, and costume design by Chelsea Cook.
