Hot on the heels of their smash-hit How? How? Why? Why? Why?, humorist, storyteller and NPR-contributor Kevin Kling returns to Seattle Rep with singer/accordionist Simone Perrin for the world premiere of a new collection of vignettes, stories and songs called Breakin' Hearts & Takin' Names. This time around, the two take on all things amore-from romantic dalliances, to brotherly love, to the joy of the human spirit.

Breakin' Hearts & Takin' Names plays in Seattle Rep's intimate Leo K. Theatre. Previews begin April 9, with opening night set for April 15. Tickets are available through the Seattle Repertory Theatre box office seven days a week at (206) 443-2222, toll-free at (877) 900-9285, as well as online at www.seattlerep.org.

Kevin Kling grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis and describes his zodiac sign as "Minnesota with Iowa rising...". Best known for his popular commentaries on National Public Radio's All Things Considered and his storytelling stage shows like How? How? Why? Why? Why? (Seattle Rep premiere, 2008), Home and Away (Seattle Rep premiere, 1991) and Tales from the Charred Underbelly of the Yule Log, Kling delivers hilarious, often tender stories.

With How? How? Why? Why? Why? Kling began an on-going collaboration with singer/accordionist Simone Perrin. She returns to Seattle Rep to work on Breakin' Hearts & Takin' Names where she will supplement Kling's stories with original and cover songs.

Director Braden Abraham's work on Harold Pinter's Betrayal is currently on stage at Seattle Rep. He directed My Name is Rachel Corrie for Seattle Rep in 2007. Other recent projects include Paul Mullin's The Ten Thousand Things at Washington Ensemble Theatre and The K of D by Laura Schellhardt.

Performance Details: Performances of Breakin' Hearts & Takin' Names are at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, with 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sundays. Post-play discussions will be held after the performances on Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 3 at 2 p.m. There is an audio-described performance on Saturday, May 2 at 2 p.m. and an American Sign Language (ASL)-interpreted performance on Sunday, May 3 at 2 p.m.
