BPA Theatre School Is Now Enrolling Spring Classes Image

BPA Theatre School is now registering for an enticing array of spring classes for pupils of all ages. Students, ages 4 - 7 will blossom in a super-positive growth experience for our littlest islanders: Creative Drama instructs students on using their faces, bodies, and voices to tell a story. Students, ages 6 - 8, will learn two song-and-dance numbers and engage in imaginative skill-building theatre games in Introduction to Musical Theatre.

This spring, we're excited to bring two production classes for students ages 8 - 10 and ages 11 - 14. BPA Theatre School takes on the hottest retro-gaming experience around with our own parody of the classic Dungeons and Dragons. Our production camps are an opportunity for students to gain the experience of auditioning, being cast, and learning lines, blocking, tech, and performance. In these popular classes, students will get a taste of what it's like to perform in a Mainstage musical, culminating with Mainstage performances in the Spring Send-Off. For children aspiring to be in a Mainstage production, these classes are the place to start!

Amanda Yeoman Brooke leads Teen Lab - Acting for the Camera for in a six-week class for students, ages 12 - 19. Students will explore the subtlety, vulnerability, and techniques that come with acting for the camera, and we will discuss the prospects for professional, on-camera acting in Seattle, and how commercial/corporate/TV/film auditions work. Furthering this real world experience, students will work on scene studies that require original, multiple 2-3-page scenes, and BPA will film these as class takeaways, so each student leaves with material to begin or add to their acting reel.
