BPA Seeks Full-Time Director Of Education

Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA) is looking for an energetic, creative person to lead BPA's thriving Theatre Education Program for children, teens, and adults. The successful candidate for this full-time position will help to maintain current momentum and will continue to grow and shape all of BPA's educational programs.

BPA's Director of Education serves as the Theatre Education Program's professional representative, student/parent liaison, and head instructor. They provide leadership in creating comprehensive theatre curriculum, implementing ongoing programs, and are responsible for developing and maintaining the infrastructure for all other administrative and operational activities of the Theatre Education Program. Key responsibilities also include hiring and supervising teaching staff, interacting with parents, maintaining registration information, acquiring and adapting plays or source material for student performances, attending Education Committee meetings, occasional board meetings and fundraisers, and participating in marketing efforts. In addition, as part of the position, the Education Program Director will teach at least one class per session.

Prior theater education/direction and personnel management experience, in addition to extraordinary personal integrity is required. The Director of Education reports to the Executive Director and shall be advised by the Education Committee.

Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA) is a non-profit community performing arts center whose team of theatre professionals works with volunteer cast members from Bainbridge, Kitsap, Seattle, and beyond to produce professional-quality, vigorously-supported, and enthusiastically-attended shows in our 245-seat facility. We produce six Mainstage shows a year, including a summer Shakespeare production at nearby Bloedel Reserve. BPA also houses The Edge Improv, Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, and BPA Theatre School, which has a longstanding tradition of supporting learners of all ages to build the skills and confidence to perform on stage and in everyday life.
