BPA Announces Auditions for XANADU

Bainbridge Performing Arts is pleased to announce AUDITIONS for XANADU, January 9 and 11 at BPA. "You have to believe we are magic!" This Tony Award-nominated, uproarious, roller skating, musical adventure about following your dreams despite the limitations others set for you, rolls along to the original hit score composed by pop-rock legends, Jeff Lynne and John Farrar. An outlandishly-enjoyable musical for adults, children, and anyone who has ever wanted to feel inspired, XANADU is based on the Universal Pictures cult classic movie of the same title, which starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly.

Run dates are May 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, and 20, with a Pay-What-You-Can Preview May 3. Rehearsals extend March 5 through May 2, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. plus Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

XANADU includes roles for 7 - 10 women, ages 16 and up and 2 - 4 men, ages 18 and up. Those auditioning are requested to prepare a one to one-and-a-half-minute monologue and 32 bars of a Broadway song. An accompanist will be provided but you must bring sheet music - clearly marked and in a three-ring binder. You may also sing acapella.
