ArtsWest is pleased to announce the Seattle Premiere of Richard Eyre's powerful new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts, featuring the return of award-winning actor Noah Racey to Seattle. Noah Racey has enjoyed an extensive Broadway career in productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Never Gonna Dance, Curtains and more. Ghosts marks the first time in 3 years that Noah Racey has appeared on stage in Seattle: theatre fans won't want to miss the opportunity.

Starring alongside Noah and in the lead role of Helen Alving is the accomplished, incomparable Seattle actress Suzanne Bouchard, who starred recently as Emma in ACT's production of Stupid F---ing Bird. Bouchard's other recent Seattle credits include the Intiman's production of The Children's Hour and Seattle Repertory Theatre's Dear Elizabeth. Rounding out the cast is John Coons, who starred in The 5th Avenue/ACT Theatre's critically-acclaimed Assassins, Eugene Opera's production ofSweeny Todd, Jesus Christ Superstar and more; Sophia Franzella, who recently starred as Molly Aster in Coeur D'Alene's production of Peter and the Starcatcher; and Paul Shapiro, who starred recently as Falstaff in Merry Wives of Windsor.

Illuminated with fresh poetry and dark humor in a stunning new adaptation from acclaimed British director Richard Eyre, Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts was seen as a scandalous work when it was first performed in 1882. As widow Helene Alving tries to start her life anew after the death of her philandering husband, she must confront the forces of the past and the weight of her own secrets. She is determined that her son will not follow his father's footsteps, but when Oswald returns from France, she discovers that she may be too late. To capture the energy of this thrilling story, Ghosts will be presented in the round - audience members, seated on all sides of the stage, will enjoy an intimate experience of this thrilling performance.
