ArtsWest starts the 2009-10 season with DEAD MAN'S CELL PHONE, a wildly imaginative new work from Sarah Ruhl, September 9 - October 3.
A Seattle Premiere from the playwright behind The Clean House and Eurydice, DEAD MAN'S CELL PHONE is "zany probe of the razor-thin line between life and death" (Variety). When Jean answers the cell phone of the corpse at the next table, she unwittingly embarks on a quirky odyssey that takes her from a high society funeral to the black market to the afterlife. With unfailing empathy, she sets the Dead Man's bizarre life to rights and on the way resurrects her own.
Directed by Carol Roscoe, ArtsWest's production of DEAD MAN'S CELL PHONE features Mike Dooly, Emily Grogan, Julie Jamieson, Peggy Gannon, Tim Gouran and Kate Witt.
DEAD MAN'S CELL PHONE is made possible in part by the Mayor's Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs and Season Sponsor Personal Safety Nets.
