2013 is a landmark year for Seattle-based guitar virtuoso Andre Feriante; it's the 20th anniversary of Andre's beloved Valentines concert (15 years at Benaroya Hall). And for the first time in years, the concert will actually fall on Valentines Day! From 1994 to 1998 Andre moved from SAM to The Frye, to the Broadway Performance Hall for his Valentines Day concert; then in 1999, a few months after Benaroya Hall opened, Andre settled in at the Nordstrom Recital Hall. Benaroya Hall has been his Valentines Day concert home ever since. February 14, 2013 also marks the release of his new CD, Beatles Masquerade ($15), and features his classical and Spanish style guitar improvisations with Beatles motifs woven throughout.
For this special anniversary Words of Love concert he will perform pieces from his new Beatles album including: Norwegian Wood, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, The Long & Winding Road, And I Love Her andYesterday. He always delivers a musical mix of fiery flamenco, classical guitar standards and spoken poetry set to his original compositions. As in years past, Andre will rotate among his stunning collection of classical, flamenco, steel string, electric and parlor guitars. Audiences should expect a little ukulele as well. Friends Overton Berry, Steve Thoreson and singer/songwriter Whitton will join Andre on stage. This concert also features his new ensemble, The Bohemian Entourage.
