All Performances of Thalia's Umbrella's EUROPE Canceled Image

All performances of Thalia's Umbrella's production of EUROPE, by David Greig, have been canceled.

Thalia's venue at 12th Avenue Arts is well under the mandatory limit of 250 persons announced by Governor Inslee yesterday, but "The safety of our patrons and of our company is our priority," said Producing Artistic Director Terry Edward Moore. "Besides, art of any kind is best approached with openness and anticipation. Anxiety and fear make appreciating art impossible. We are grateful for our loyal patrons and fully intend to remount our production in calmer, safer times. Stay healthy and safe and we look forward to bringing more art to the city of Seattle."

Thalia's Umbrella, founded in 2011, is a nonprofit theater organization producing theater in various performance venues in Seattle including ACT THEATER and 12th AVENUE ARTS. Thalia's Umbrella has produced diverse theater such as their inaugural production A DAY IN THE DEATH OF JOE EGG to 2019's production of SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS. Thalia's is an Equity/Non Equity Theater company producing generally one fabulous production a year, winning multiple awards including Seattle Times Footlight Awards in 2013, 2014, and 2016 as well as Seattle Gay News "Best Theater of 2014" and again in 2016. Thalia's Umbrella has a mission to produce plays that dance on the line between comedy and tragedy, taking the light of life seriously and the serious lightly, to create a space where, in Robert Frost's words, "the work is play for mortal stakes." Thalia's Umbrella welcomes other artists-visual, physical, musical-who also dance on that line. www.thaliasumbrella.org. Thalia's Umbrella is led by Producing Artistic Director Terry Edward Moore and Associate Artistic Director Daniel Wilson.
