Seattle Shakespeare Company's free Wooden O productions for this summer will be As You Like It and Henry IV part 1. Both shows will start performances on July 9 and will perform in park venues throughout the region through August 9. (please see attached schedule). For the first time Seattle Shakespeare Company will bring a show to Tacoma, performing at Wright Park. As You Like It will transfer to Walla Walla, WA for a week of performances August 12-16 as part of Shakespeare Walla Walla .
"It seems outdoor theatre has become as integral part of the our area's summer as swimming in Lake Washington, bon fires at Golden Gardens and SeaFair," said Artistic Director George Mount. "We're proud to be a part of that Northwest summer tradition." Artistic Director George Mount will direct Henry IV part 1. Mount recently directed Seattle Shakespeare Company's production of Waiting for Godot and appeared in the company's production of Twelfth Night. Wooden O veteran Annie Lareau will direct As You Like It. Lareau's recent directing projects include Seattle Shakespeare Company's spring touring productions of Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet, as well as ArtsWest's upcoming production of Chinglish.Videos
