Now the program formerly known as the Central Heating Lab will simply be known as ACTLab. With this new name, comes a new vision and mission:
Vision:
ACTLab is investing in the imagination of audiences and artists, cultivating new ideas through experimentation, excellent art, and meaningful partnerships.
Mission:
ACTLab exists to invite artists to experience and create groundbreaking process and product through a curated partnership program.
ACTLab Goals:
· Integrate ACTLab more fully into the organization as a whole
· Curate thrilling seasons of bold and adventurous programming
· Produce standard seven-show seasons in partnership with local theatre companies and artists
· Move strategic planning to a three-year calendar
· Strive for more elegant collaborative solutions for producing
· Increase mutual financial success
Audiences will have a chance to experience the talent and innovation of a diverse range of theatrical companies thanks to the ACTLab. ACT will continue to be a cultural reef for the city and a hub for artists of different perspective to come together. ACT has re-tooled and re-organized our institutional processes to better suit the needs of ACTLab and feel there has never been a more exciting moment to make art at ACT. ACTLab will be nimble, easy to navigate, and will set its partners up for optimal success. Season planning is in process through the calendar year of 2019. The ACT website features information for artists to learn more and apply for a position in an upcoming season: www.acttheatre.org/About/ForArtists.
About ACTLab - Launched in 2007 as The Central Heating Lab, ACTLab serves as an incubator and catalyst for new works. Uniquely positioned to provide the space and resources to the development of projects in a collaborative environment, ACT partners with emerging and seasoned local artists, giving them the sustenance and pressure required to experiment, grow, and transform their work and reach new audiences. ACTLab presents artists working in all performance genres and provides an artistic home for a variety of local performance groups and artists like Azeotrope, The Seagull Project, UMO Ensemble, and Endangered Species Project. With year-round ACTLab and Mainstage programming, ACT offers its patrons a unique opportunity to maximize their theatre experience -- the ACTPass: all you can see for only $30 per month. ACTPass Members can attend nearly all ACT produced performances.
