ACT - A Contemporary Theatre presents Stupid f-ing Bird by Aaron Posner, where Chekhov's story of love, art, and a hapless bird gets a remarkably contemporary face. On the grounds of a country estate, a battle between young and old ensues in this heartbreaking, hilarious, sort-of-adaptation of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull. Winner of the 2014 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding New Play, Stupid f-ing Bird is about our longing to love and be loved.

Directed by Jessica Kubzansky, this irreverent play features a talented cast including Suzanne Bouchard, Keiko Green, MJ Sieber, Jasmine Jean Sim, Adam Standley, G. Valmont Thomas, and Connor Toms. Stupid f-ing Bird premiered by the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington, D.C. in May 2013. The Washington Post calls the play "a funny, moving slugfest, a ripe mashup of mock and awe."

Stupid f-ing Bird plays Apr 8-May 8, 2016 (Opening/Press Night on Thursday, Apr 14) at ACT's Allen Theatre (700 Union Street, Seattle, WA 98101). Tickets start at $20 and may be purchased online at www.acttheatre.org, by phone at 206.292.7676, or at the ACT Ticket Office at 700 Union Street.

Age Recommendation: This play is recommended for ages 14+ for mature language and themes and will contain recorded gunfire.
