Fussy Cloud aims to provide Seattle with quality adult puppetry performances and support the growth and exploration of both new and seasoned puppeteers. Each slam features an evening of live puppet shorts (and sometimes films). Vol. 14 is presented in association with Theatre Off Jackson. Whether you are new to puppetry or have performed at our slam before, we invite you to submit. Whether you have a finished piece to debut, an idea to workshop, or a puppet classic, we want to hear from you! Fussy Cloud is a place to be creative, quirky and experimental.
What We Are Seeking:
- Adult puppet pieces up to 8 minutes long ("adult" as in "not necessarily for children"; "blue" material is acceptable but not required)
- We love to encounter new acts and new (or just new-to-us) performers.
- We are primarily a live show, but we are also happy to consider your short puppet films (just be aware that preference is given to live performance pieces)
Small stipends will be paid to each act, and additionally some travel stipends are available for out-of-towners.
If you are interested in participating please send us the following:
• Your name and contact info
• City, State/Province
• a Brief Description of your piece: story line, type of puppets used, how many puppeteers and general mood
• Approx. Length (8 min or less)
• Video link of piece (if available)
• Performance pictures (if available)
*Please Note: Technical resources are limited - slams are quick and dirty! If you have a technically complex piece, please let us know the specs when you apply so W. May determine if it is simple enough to be successful in the slam format.
Please send your submissions (and any questions) via email to: fussycloudpuppetslam@gmail.com
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: February 20
