Back again after its successful inaugural year, The Great Leavenworth Wine & Food Festival kicks off summer in the Cascade Mountains of North Central Washington with a day-long celebration of regional wines and culinary delights on June 25. The event features samplings of the region's finest wines, which have been attracting national wine press attention for their quality and complexity, culinary treats from the areas best restaurants, culinary provisioners, and kitchens, and a fun day of cooking demonstrations, raffles, music and more.

Presented by the Columbia Cascade Wine Association and The Icicle Creek Music Center, the Great Leavenworth Wine & Food Festival take place in two parts.

The Main Event is held from 11am - 5pm in Leavenworth's colorful FestHalle, located in downtown section of charming Bavarian themed village of Leavenworth.

The new Dessert Finale spotlights exceptional dessert wines and decadent confections from local vintners and chefs, and is held 7:00 - 9:00pm at Leavenworth's most beautiful venue with sweeping views of Sleeping Lady Mountain, The Canyon Wren Recital Hall. The Hall is located just off Route 2 on Icicle Road.

This year's event showcases some of the premier wineries in the Columbia Cascade region, the heart of Washington's newest wine country and a region that has been gathering fans and getting fantastic press in wine journals, newspapers and wine blogs for the beauty of the landscape and the quality, complexity and diversity of its wine offerings:

Restaurants: King Ludwigs, South, Visconti's, Cured, Cajon Grill from Chateau Faire LePont, Andreas Keller, Smokeblossom, Best Bite, and Pavs with Fame on the fence, The Cheesemonger and The Fudge Shop.

Featured celebrity guest chefs include chef DJ MacIntyre of SeaStar Restaurant and Raw Bar and Brandon LaVille of Archery Bistro.

The Festival is made possible by the support of Viking, Debbie Douglas Designs, and the many generous contributions of Leavenworth area winemakers and chefs.

Tickets for The Main Event of the Festival are $35 online or $40 at the door, and include a souvenir wine glass, samples from more than 20 regional wineries, fantastic food offerings from more than 10 local restaurants, cooking demonstrations, and chances to win a stocked wine-cooler, bottles of local wines, and meet with the region's most celebrated vintners. Tickets for The Dessert Finale are $20 online and $25 at the door, and offer a wonderful way to finish off the night with lovely wine and dessert pairings.
