TO KILL A MOCKINBIRD to Play Theatre Royal Glasgow in 2015

Adapted for stage by Christopher Sergel, based on Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, this enchanting production of To Kill A Mockingbird comes to the Theatre Royal from Tuesday 3 February for one week only. Daniel Betts will play Atticus Finch alongside Zackary Momoh as Tom Robinson and Christopher Akrill as Boo Radley. Original cast member and composer Phil King will reprise his role.

Daniel Betts is an accomplished stage actor whose previous theatre credits include Skylight (National Theatre), The Winter's Tale (Royal Shakespeare Company), Dial M for Murder (UK Tour), Sweet Bird of Youth (Old Vic), The Great Game (Tricycle, NYC & US Tour) and The King's Speech (Wyndham's Theatre). Daniel's previous television roles include Criminal Justice, Law and Order and A Touch of Frost.

Christopher Akrill began his career as a dancer and has worked with companies including Scottish Ballet, Northern Ballet and Hannover State Ballet. Christopher's theatre credits include Dr Dee (Manchester International Festival) and Waiting for Godot (Munich). He has appeared on screen in Joe Wright's Anna Karenina, The Muppets Most Wanted and ITV's Mr Selfridge.

Zackary Momoh has recently appeared on stage at the National Theatre in From Morning to Midnight and Sir Nicholas Hytner's critically acclaimed production of Othello. His other stage credits include Palm, Wine and Stout (UK Tour) and The Bay (Young Vic). Zackary has also appeared on screen in Holby City, Doctors and Travel Express.

Reprising his role for 2014, Phil King composed and performed the critically acclaimed score for the 2013 production at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre. Phil has composed music for television, film and theatre and has released two albums to critical acclaim. Many of his tracks have been played on BBC Radio 2 by the likes of Bob Harris, Steve Lamacq and Alex Lester, as well as on regional BBC stations.

Full casting includes Geoff Aymer (Reverend Sykes), Victoria Bewick (Mayella Ewell), David Carlyle (Nathan Radley/Mr Gilmer), Jamie Kenna (Heck Tate), Susan Lawson Reynolds (Calpurnia) and Christopher Saul (Mrs Walter Cunningham/Judge Taylor). Jemima Bennett, Ava Potter and Rosie Boore with share the role of Scout whilst Harry Bennett, Arthur Franks and Billy Price will share the role of Jem. The role of Dill Harris will be shared by Leo Heller, Connor Brundish and Milo Panni.

Directed by Timothy Sheader, To Kill A Mockingbird originally opened Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's 2013 season to critical acclaim and sell out performances. Proving its success across every art form, the 1960 novel was awarded the Pulitzer Prize, followed by the film adaptation in 1962 which won three Oscars out of the eight it was nominated for, and most recently the stage production clinched a What's On Stage Award 2014 for Best Play Revival. To Kill A Mockingbird is now in its second UK tour produced by Regent's Park Theatre Ltd, Fiery Angel, Adam Spiegel and William Village.
